- system analysis : problem-solving approach that requires defining the scope of system, dividing into components, then identifying tand evaluating its problems, opportunities, constraints and needs

Four Frames of Organisation
- Structural frame: roles and responsitbilities, coordination and control. Organizational charts help describe this frame
- Human resource frame: provide harmony between needs of the organisation and needs of people
- Political frame: coalitions composed of varied individuals and interest groups. conflict and power are key issues
- Symbolic frame: symbols and meanings related to events. culture, language, traditions and image are all parts of this frame
Organisational Structures
- functional: bureaucratic organisational structure. divides the ocmpany into departments
- matrix: reporting relationships are established as a matrix
- projectized: establishe especially for a project. prj team members work under the management of the project manager
- composite: a combination of other types of structures
Functional Organisation Structures
- traditional type of granisation chart used across many business and orgs to visualize company structure
- shows leadership roles such as managers and executive positions towards the top connected to their direct reports and associates towards the bottom
